Faith Lutheran Day School has been shaping young hearts in Flower Mound, Highland Village, Lewisville, Corinth and surrounding communities for over 30 years. The school is accredited through the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association.
Faith Lutheran Day School provides a quality Christian early childhood setting in which each child is encouraged to grow, learn and develop as a child of God.
We serve children 18 months through kindergarten.
Our program includes weekly Chapel, Music and Fit for Faith (physical education) classes. Spanish Class is included in our Kindergarten program.
We believe that each child is a gift from God and is created uniquely by God. Our team strives to make each child feel safe, secure and loved so that they can grow and learn at their own pace. Our team values strong relationships with our families and works in partnership with families to walk with them on their journey. Teachers meet with parents individually for an orientation meeting so that the teacher/parent relationship is established before school starts. This meeting gives the parent the opportunity to share about their child before the child comes to school.
Through education, experience and low staff to student ratios, we are able to create an environment that supports each child’s unique learning style.
A Bible Story is featured each week in Chapel and through activities in the classroom. Parents and family
members are invited to join us for chapel time.
Prayer time is incorporated with snack time, lunch time and circle time. Our team models the values of always loving God and loving people to the children and families we serve.
The children participate in outdoor recess time each day. If the weather keeps us inside, we have a gymnasium for indoor large motor play.
During the school day, the children explore and learn through a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Children are introduced to a multitude of sensory and tactile experiences during center time and creative art time.
We use Learning Without Tears Curriculum for letter formation and math. This curriculum features hands-on learning for both handwriting and math with a wide variety of manipulatives and activities rather than worksheets.
Science and social studies components are supplemented with resources from Scholastic. Science experiments are incorporated into the classroom regularly. We have a vegetable garden and a huge garden with a wide variety of flowers and plants surrounding our playground which the teachers use as a learning tool with the students. We are a registered Monarch Way Station, so the children see the life cycle of a butterfly throughout the school year in our own gardens.
Parents have access to school and classroom calendars as well as weekly updates through our website. Teachers upload pictures weekly to a secure site where parents can view photos of their children’s school day. Teachers make themselves available to parents to communicate face to face or electronically as needed. Parent/teacher conferences are scheduled several times throughout the year to visit about your child’s progress.
We celebrate holidays and special events throughout the school year including: pumpkin parties and pumpkin fun day with science activities, visit from the fire trucks, Thanksgiving feast and Thanksgiving play by our kindergarteners, Christmas programs and parties, Valentine’s parties, dental hygienist visit, Easter Egg Hunt, western day with pony rides, and end of year celebrations and graduations.
We provide opportunities for families to serve others by collecting non-perishable foods for charity, purchasing Christmas toys for the needy, participating in Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry, and helping to fulfill other needs in the community. Classes take turns creating cards and notes that are mailed to the elderly. We value teaching the children to serve others by providing real-life lessons and opportunities to share our blessings.
Hands-on learning and academics are incorporated into each school day. Learning and knowing how much God loves us and how to share, take turns, and be a good friend to all are valued and modeled each day. We love to give tours and share more about our school through visiting with families.
