“I’ve always been passionate about empowering women to take ownership of their health through education and awareness. Since high school I’ve been involved in projects that seek to give women the knowledge to care for themselves better.”
Listening is a big part of Dr. Burkett’s approach to caring for women. She starts each appointment by finding out what her patients have to say, their primary concerns, and their fears. She makes sure she’s not only arriving at the proper diagnosis, but also understanding her patient’s goals for treatment.
Dr. Burkett graduated cum laude from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, then went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the UNTHSC in Fort Worth. She completed her residency training at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, IL, where she served as Chief Resident. She is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association and the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association.
Dr. Burkett takes her time with patients and makes sure you are given the best possible care. She has been the doctor for both of my pregnancies (one of which had complications) and made me and my husband feel safe and informed.
