We offer summer camps, half day and full day options, from June 4 – August 9. Science, Nature and STEM camps feature indoor and outdoor activities in 66 acres of gardens including The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden.

Our Camp Plus option lets you extend the fun up until 5 pm. It is only available for select camps.

Cool Science Explorations | ages 4 – Kindergarten
In this NEW camp, young scientists will investigate the world of science and nature around them. Campers will investigate the smallest creatures that call the Arboretum home, including some found right under their very own feet! This week is also packed with daily engineering explorations with objects that float, sink, roll and pop.

Weeklong camps: June 3-7, 9am-12pm
One-day camps: July 1 I July 2, 9am-12pm

Creature Feature | ages 4 – Kindergarten
Go wild about animals this summer! Last year’s popular camp returns with ALL NEW garden critters! Each day campers will explore the fascinating world of the animals that call the Arboretum home. Investigate where animals live, how they survive and what makes them unique. Hands-on explorations, games and nature safaris in the garden reveal the secret lives of squirrels, lizards, turtles and more!

Weeklong camps: June 3-7 | July 8-12, 9am-12pm

Makers in the Garden I ages 4 – Kindergarten
Does your child love to make, tinker, build or invent?  In this NEW camp, children will explore, design, construct and share their DIY creations. Using an array of materials and technologies, campers will create bugs, flowers, buildings, and other nature-inspired objects to take home while learning about the natural world around them.  

Weeklong camps: June 10-14 I July 22-26, 9am-12pm

Cool Science Explorations | 1st & 2nd grade
If you are into science, then this camp is for you! Each day your child will learn as different scientists: engineer, astronomer, geologist, chemist, biologist and more! Days will be action-packed with hands-on experiments and activities and campers will keep a science notebook of their experiments to inspire them throughout the rest of summer!

Weeklong camps: June 10-14 I July 8-12; 9am-3pm

Creature Feature | 1st & 2nd grade
Ever wonder how wild animals big and small survive at the Arboretum? In this camp, children will investigate the amazing feats that happen right under their own noses. How do lizards walk on windows and walls? How do squirrels and rabbits escape from nightly predators?  Hands-on explorations, games and nature safaris in the garden reveal the secret lives of animals.

Weeklong camps: July 22-26 I August 5-9, 9am-3pm
One day camps: July 1 I July 2, 1-4pm

Makers in the Garden I 1st & 2nd grade
Does your child love to make, tinker, build or invent?  In this NEW camp, children will explore, design, construct and share their DIY creations. Girl Scout Camps I Brownie Camp
Join us for a week filled with fascinating nature and art investigations in the most beautiful place in Dallas! In this NEW camp, girls will earn and receive the following badges: Outdoor Art Creator, Bugs, Outdoor Adventurer and Hiker. Days will be packed with outdoor and indoor activities, garden explorations and friendship. Open to registered Girl Scout Brownies only.

Weeklong camps: July 8-12, 9-3 pm

Adventure Camp Jr. | 3rd & 4th grade
In this specially-designed outdoors camp for adventurous kids, campers will work in teams to navigate the Arboretum, hike a local nature preserve and learn how to kayak in a swimming pool!  Campers will learn about their role in the environment during nature investigations.

Weeklong camps: June 17-21 I June 24-28, 9am-3pm

SciQuest Jr. | 3rd & 4th grade
Last year’s wildly popular camp is back with all new STEM discoveries.  Ever wonder what it would be like if you were the first kid in space? STEM activities  include investigations about NASA’s Parker Solar Probe, Mars Insight and the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, in conjunction with the University of North Texas. Find out what you would need to survive as we explore the history and future of space travel! Campers will explore with mBot robots, 3D printing, VR (Virtual Reality) and AR (Augmented Reality) technologies.  

Weeklong camps: July 22-26 I August 5-9, 9am-3pm

Girl Scout Camps I Junior Camp
Come experience nature and art explorations in one of the most beautiful gardens in the country!  Girls will earn and receive the following badges: Outdoor Art Explorer, Gardener, Animal Habitats and Flowers. The week is filled with indoor and outdoor hands-on investigations, adventures in the garden, fun games and friendship. Open to registered Girl Scout Juniors only.

Weeklong camps: July 15-19, 9-3 pm

One day camps: Join us for one or two days full of DIY projects that campers can take home!

July 1 I July 2, 1-4 pm

Adventure Camp | 5th – 7th grade
Come and experience adventure in Dallas’ great outdoors! Campers will work in teams to navigate the Arboretum, hike a local nature preserve, learn to cast a fishing rod and kayak on White Rock Lake.  Teams will work together to design and build an obstacle course challenge and race each other to the finish line!

Weeklong camps: June 17-21 I June 24-28; 9am-3pm

SciQuest I 5th – 7th grade

Camps are designed for specific ages/grades. Children need to be the designated age or grade by the date the camp occurs. Grade levels are the grade your child will be entering in fall 2019.

If your child is joining us for a half day camp, bring a small snack. Bring a lunch and a snack if they are attending a full day camp.

The Dallas Arboretum Summer Camps welcomes children from all backgrounds and all abilities. The Dallas Arboretum gardens are wheel chair accessible.
