Dr. Kathryn Mandal enjoys long term relationships with her patients and watching their families grow. Her focus is on preventative care and keeping her patients healthy with safety tips, immunizations, and lots of time for questions at well visits.
Dr. Mandal was born in New Jersey and lived in 13 states before graduating high school at age 14. She attended Smith College in Massachusetts where she majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. After graduation, she went to work at Duke University in the division of Infectious Diseases and published a paper in a scientific journal by age 20. She then moved to Texas to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. During her third year of medical school, she spent a rotation on the Mexican border in McAllen Texas, and during that time she decided to dedicate her career to the welfare of children by becoming a pediatrician. She completed her training in Pediatrics at Stony Brook Medical Center in Long Island, NY before moving to Washington DC, where her husband was finishing his medical training. She moved back to Texas to raise her family in 2006 and has lived in the Keller area since then.
She started Continuum in 2016 to provide a unique place in her community where patients would be able to get appointments on the same day and be able to see the same doctor all the time. As the mother of an expreemie with health issues as an infant, she has understood how difficult it is for families to deal with a sick child and works hard to make convenient access to health care a priority.
High quality, compassionate care for our patients is the foundation of Continuum Pediatrics.
In her free time, Dr. Mandal enjoys cooking, running, and spending time with her two young boys and husband, a local gastroenterologist. Dr. Mandal has always said “she has the best job in the world.”
