Dr. Wisler was born in Bossier City, Louisiana and raised in Los Angeles, California. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology at University of California at Santa Cruz and earned her M.D. from Northwestern University in Chicago. She completed her pediatric internship at Children's National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and her pediatric residency at University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Wisler is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In her last years of medical school, and again during residency, Dr. Wisler was able to study the Spanish language in Guatemala and intern at a clinic and hospital there. After residency, she was awarded a National Health Service Corps scholarship and went on to serve as a primary care pediatrician in a community health clinic in Tampa, Florida, for two years. She is grateful to all of the families who helped her gain compassion and taught her Spanish.
Since moving to Dallas, Texas in 2003, Dr. Wisler has enjoyed working with medical students and residents as an assistant professor at University of Texas Southwestern from 2003 to 2009. She joined the Cook Children's office in Flower Mound in March 2014, after having spent the prior three years as a hospital specialist pediatrician at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth.
Dr. Wisler's passion is scuba diving, and she has been fortunate to travel all over the world diving. She met her husband on one of her dive trips, and when she can pull him away from his passion, cycling, they go on dive trips together. Dr. Wisler loves spending time with her dogs, being outdoors, and staying in shape by riding her bike along with her husband in a local cycling group.
Dr. Wisler has a way with kids that makes them feel comfortable. My kiddo has always been hesitant with doctors. After her first visit she said, “Mom, I like that doctor!”
Of course, that made this momma smile a sigh of relief. We’ve been there 5 years now and don’t plan on going anywhere else. The nursing and office staff are always pleasant and warm. Great location too.- E, Flower Mound
