When and Where Is the Lone Star Film Festival Summer Film Camp?
The Lone Star Film Festival Summer Film Camp takes place in Summer 2026 and is offered in two separate sessions. Both sessions are held on TCU’s campus at the Bob Schieffer College of Communication in Fort Worth.
Camp Sessions
Session 1: July 6–17, 2026
Session 2: July 20–August 31, 2026
Camp meets on weekdays only.
What Is Film Camp?
The LSFF Summer Film Camp is a creative, hands-on experience designed for students who love storytelling and filmmaking.
Participants will:
– Collaborate with new and interesting peers
– Gain real-world insight into the film industry and potential career paths
– Create a completed short film suitable for college applications and creative portfolios
What Happens During Summer Film Camp?
Students will explore all aspects of filmmaking, including:
- On-set roles and film crew jobs
- Screenwriting and storytelling fundamentals
- Filmmaking techniques and production workflows
- Participants will work hands-on with professional film equipment and collaborate as a team to produce a short film from script to screen.
- Each session produces a unique original film.
Who Can Attend?
The Summer Film Camp is designed for high school-age students.
Cost & Registration Discounts
The full tuition for LSFF Summer Film Camp is $950.
Discounts are available based on when you register:
- Registration Opens: $600 (save $350) — before May 1
- Regular Registration: $725 (save $225) — before June 1
- Late Registration: $850 (save $100) — before July 1
- Last Call Registration: $950 — between July 1 and July 18

LSFF offers a limited number of financial aid awards for our Summer Film Camp, including partial and full scholarships, based on financial need and available funding.
