Design Goes Digital

Hot new outfit for work? Check. Freshly blown-out hair? Check. Designer wedges that somehow make your legs look longer? Check. Regulation nerd pack to carry your dull-looking PC? Sadly, check.

Thankfully, designer Vivienne Tam has teamed up with HP to produce a designer digital clutch. Now you can stay connected while staying true to your inner fashionista.

The notebook debuted on the catwalk of Tam’s spring/summer 2009 fashion show and is locally available at Neiman Marcus. With a $700 price tag, the HP®Mini 1000® laptop weighs only 2.5 pounds, is 1 inch thick and has an almost full-size keyboard (92 percent of the standard). The peony-print machine has e-mail and Web capabilities, as well as word processing via Microsoft Works. What’s more, if you are a mom with a busy travel schedule, you can even have face-to-face chats on the 10.1-inch screen using the built-in HP Mini webcam and microphone.
