University Park peeps clamor to the popular Curtis Park playground which received an A on DallasChild’s Safety Report Card.*
Kids can’t seem to resist the grand spread of equipment off Lovers Lane. Towering lush trees surround the play area, allowing for some shade in the searing hot months.
Play areas are built for the 2-5 and 5-12 age ranges and there is little wait for any exciting equipment, especially with six different slides available. The only negative to note is the lack of signage dictating rules of behavior – these could be more heavily stressed to prevent possible injuries.
This review was distributed to the City of University Park Park and Recreation department for further review and/or action.
Tucked behind the aquatics and tennis center in University Park, the Curtis Park playground is the perfect haven for summer playtime.
The playground greets visitors with signage stating expected behavior, as well as the colorful sight of separate playscapes for ages 2-5 and 5-12. The ground covering of the playground meets the recommendations of the National Program for Playground Safety, leaving little room for park improvements.
