Ready to take your career to the next level? Through the Adult and Continuing Education (ACE) department at North Central Texas College, you’ll develop career skills and receive the necessary training to achieve your professional goals and pursue the career you’ve always wanted. Many companies flocking to North Texas are in need of employees skilled in the business, technical and computer technology and legal sectors––a career in these industries is well within reach.
Knowing how to navigate computer software’s, such as Microsoft Office, is essential for many professions. NCTC has programs for those who are learning about computer software’s and technology for the first time and for those who just need a refresher. If you’ve never worked with Microsoft, enrolling in introduction courses to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint may be the best option for you. There is even an eight-hour fast track option for each course, so you can get through the class in one day.
If you have an interest in the inner-workings of business, consider taking the Society of Human Resource Management Essentials course. In four weeks, you will understand key HR topics and the fundamental issues of HR, so you can effectively and confidently approach challenging issues that may arise while on the job. If you’ve always wanted to work in law, take a course in Introduction to Paralegalism, Paralegal Ethics or Law Office Management––all of which are also new programs offered by the school. After taking these courses you’ll know the basic terminology, practices and techniques needed in a legal office as well as understand the ethical and legal responsibilities a paralegal has to the public, the court and clients.
Ready to break into real estate? The housing market is hot in North Texas and there’s no better time than the present to take the plunge into this field. The ACE 180-hour Real Estate Agent program consists of evening classes at NCTC campus in Corinth and is broken down into 6 modules over 3 months with 8 days of classroom learning for each module. Though the course may seem extensive, it is broken down to fit the schedule of a busy parent.

Richland College offers many opportunities for those looking to make a career change. If you’re looking for a workplace refresher, check out the 8-hour seminar in Business Management. From leadership skills to workplace communication and time management, you’ll receive the tools and knowledge to revamp your career. Other courses span from four, eight to 16 weeks, including weekend boot camps so you can quickly knock out a certification without having to put other responsibilities on hold.
Richland College’s continuing education division includes popular programs in the healthcare, business and IT sectors, GED test preparation, as well as community courses for those who need a refresh on current trends and topics, or just want to learn something new.
If you have a knack for healthcare, consider one of the Allied Health Certificate Programs. These include courses to become a medical or dental assistant, EMT, or pharmacy technician. University of North Texas Professional Development Institute
