Chuy's

VIBE: From hanging wooden fish to old car rims, anything works as decoration for Chuy’s. The founders of the original restaurant started the décor with $20 in hand. Kids will be thrilled with the colorful restaurant, and the many things to gawk at, and parents will love the various Mexican plates offered.

WHY IT'S TOT-FRIENDLY: Chuy’s features a special menu for kids. Typical menu items such as chicken nuggets and cheeseburgers will please your picky eaters while the adventurous ones can try enchiladas, burritos or crispy tacos. Plus, how cool is it that you can get your chips from the back of a car?

BE SURE TO TRY: Fajitas are a must here. Plus, the portions are large enough to guarantee that you’ll be stuffed as you leave the restaurant.

GOOD TO KNOW: Not only does Chuy’s not accept reservations, there is almost always a waiting line. Be sure to anticipate the wait, but know that it’ll be worth it.

BEST TIMES TO GO WITH KIDS: Because of the long waits, it would be best to try and beat the lunch or dinner crowds by getting there a bit early.
