Nestled just on the outskirts of Southern Methodist University’s tree-lined campus, Burleson Park offers a cool spot for parents to relax and kids to rev up. The playscapes, which are separated for bigger and littler kids, earned an A on DallasChild’s Safety Report Card.*
Little ones will flip for a playscape just their size, with a long covered slide, a slide with twists and turns, and plenty of space for climbing. There’s even a tiny slide for the littlest adventure-seekers. The bigger kids’ playscape packs a bit more punch, with monkey rings, a rock-climbing wall and a twisty slide barreling down from a tall platform. While the area is padded with thick mulch, it does fall short of the recommended 6-foot padded area around the equipment, so be sure to keep a close eye on kids running around the edge of the play area.
