Branch Hollow Park in Carrollton

Grade: A (20 points/24 points)

+ Rubber playground surface
+ Equipment in good condition

Only one play area for ages 5–12
Children can't always be viewed

Branch Hollow Park in Carrollton scores an A and offers a great deal in the way of family fun. The 3.5-acre site features two tennis courts, pavilions, walking trails and a large playground. The playground is clean and well kept; however, there are areas where a parent’s view of the child may be obstructed. Children under 5 might be out of luck at the park as there is only one playground, and it’s designated for children ages 5–12. In addition to the main playground structure, there are two swing sets. One of these features baby-safe seats to occupy any younger siblings in tow. Branch Hollow Park provides several options for the family looking to have some fun in the fresh air; it just might not be the best choice for families with small children.

Grade based on the National Program for Playground Safety’s Safety Report Card at playgroundsafety.org.
