In the middle of the bustling Metroplex, Bob Jones Playground in Southlake is like a breath of fresh air—and that’s exactly what you’ll find there.
The colorful, unique playground area includes swing sets, two different climbing walls, nine slides for children (and adults!), tic-tac-toe and even spelling games. Nearby, acres and acres of wide-open spaces are perfect for creative and energetic play. The play area’s biggest drawback—its proximity to the more expansive park—means you’ve got to bring those eyes to put in the back of your head. But this playground outing can easily be an all-day affair.
The nearly 500-acre park, much of which is native Cross Timbers habitat, also features sports fields, walking trails, a dog park, fishing ponds and even an equestrian area. Handicap-accessible and picnic-friendly, the park even includes a concession stand that’s open on the weekends. Bring lunch.
