Location: 3206 Smith Barry Road. Located at the southeast corner of Smith Barry Road and Nora Drive.
Why it’s noteworthy: The playground is completely shaded by large coverings and features separate play structures for big and small kids. The rubber surface is great for cushioning tumbles and for strollers.
Extras: Unique to this park is a second, smaller playground for all ages across the street at the northwest corner of Smith Barry Road and Nora Drive. This second play area has one covered play structure, a sandbox and a spring toy. There are also restrooms, benches, a pavilion and, across the creek from the main playground, an exercise station and walking trail.
Safety: Keep an eye on kids who are prone to wander; the creek isn’t too close but is accessible. And keep a watchful eye as younger children play on the structure for big kids. It has several openings on the upper level where little ones could fall. There is some rust on the equipment and the rubber surface has come apart in some places, but overall the equipment is in good condition, scoring an A* on the Safety Report Card.
