Looking for an afternoon of fun (and maybe some fishing)? Then head over to Allen’s Bethany Lakes Park, which earned an A on DallasChild’s Safety Report Card.*
The colorful playground includes a neat rock-climbing area with little nooks and crannies that are perfect for a game of hide and seek. The playscape designed for older children boasts a tall twisty slide, a bridge to run across and a cool telescope for checking out the ducks at the nearby pond. The smaller playscape has little slides and lots of climbing areas. The play area offers a thick carpet of mulch, but it’s a bit short of the recommended 6-foot surrounding safety zone.
Make sure you bring along a few pieces of bread to feed the ducks and your fishing poles for some waterside for fun!
