Beauty Must-Haves for Spring

looking for something new to add to your beauty routine?

Are you a beauty junkie? Are you constantly looking for the next big product that will help brighten those under eye circles or moisturize dry spots or elongate your lashes? Me too. It’s also just fun to branch out and try something new every now and then.

Below are some beauty products that I’m loving right now. From brush cleaners to retinol creams, there’s a little something for everyone.

OLAY REGENERIST RETINOL24

This cream is absolutely amazing, and it has great reviews to back me up. The cream is great for practically all skin types—normal, oily, dry/combination—and its formula contains a Vitamin B3 and retinoid complex to smooth out those fine lines and wrinkles as well as your pores and dark spots.

But it’s not nearly as drying as some retinol formulas; this stuff actually keeps your skin hydrated for the next 24 hours. And it’s fragrance-free, for those with scent sensitivity. Bonus. // $28

BRUSH CLEANING SET

This set is so cool. If you’re like me, you might not clean your makeup brushes nearly as often as you should. It takes time that you don’t always have. Enter this makeup-brush cleaning machine.

Put the appropriate-sized rubber collar on your brush, dip it into the included bowl with soap and water, turn on the handheld wand that connects to the collar and the machine will spin the brush clean in the mixture! Slowly lift the brush out of the water so the machine spins out all the excess. You have a clean, dry brush almost instantly. Thank me later. // $18

TULA FACE FILTER BLURRING AND MOISTURIZING PRIMER

I love a good primer that helps your foundation and everything else you put on look smooth and flawless. This primer uses probiotics and superfood extracts such as licorice and chia seeds to balance out your skin for that “filter” look. The best part is that while it smooths out your pores, it’s non-comedogenic and won’t clog them. // $34

TARTE SHAPE TAPE GLOW WAND

Want that dewy look but don’t want to brush on a bunch of highlighter to get the effect? Check out Tarte’s glow wand. Apply a light amount at the top of your cheeks, under your eyes, after you apply your foundation and concealer. It provides the perfect amount of glow but looks totally natural.

It comes in eight shades, too, so you can find the right glow for you. It comes with a small makeup sponge you can use, but we prefer to use a concealer brush for easier application. // $27

DIME BEAUTY MATTE LIP GLOSS

I’m a huge fan of spicing up my look with a good lip. Have you ever noticed that just adding lip color to a plain tee and shorts takes it up a notch? But I also hate having to reapply every time I finish eating or drinking something. (And maybe my SO doesn’t totally appreciate having my gloss or lipstick remnants rubbing off on him either.) Enter Dime’s matte liquid lipstick.

It doesn’t rub off. It doesn’t dry your lips. And there’s so many beautiful neutral, but fun, colors. I recommend colors Johnny, Zac and Jack. Love. // $15

DRUNK ELEPHANT C-TANGO EYE CREAM

This eye cream is worth every penny. The combination of peptides, vitamin C and cucumber extract give your eyes a firmer, stronger look while brightening at the same time. The best part is you can use this both during the day and at night. Plus, it’s gentle—so it will soothe and refresh without irritating your eyes. // $64

PROSE PRODUCTS

Need hair care designed specifically for you? Consider trying out Prose. All its products are geared toward you—you fill out some information about what you’re looking for based on your age, type of hair, length, hair density, scalp and other factors.

Once you’ve input that info, they’ll even tell you what environmental factors impact your hair based on where you live. For example, in Dallas, water hardness is one of my factors to consider, along with UV rays and humidity. You then get to choose your favorite scents (or go scent-free) and whether you want it to be vegan or gluten-free. Finally, it asks for your hair goals—more volume, shine, curl, moisture, any of it.

It then looks at your answers and determines where on their scale you need some help. As a platinum blonde, damage and dryness were at the top of my list, so plant collagen, maca root, argan and other specific ingredients were identified to be added to my products. And for added fun, when your products are delivered, they have your name printed on them. Luxury in a bottle!
