Discover Fun at Atlantis

The Greek philosopher Plato wrote about the mythical lost city of Atlantis some 2,500 years ago. Since then, scientists, historians and writers have kept the story alive by trying to pinpoint its location.

Whether or not the city has actually been found is debatable, but it has been recreated — in the Bahamas. Look no further.

Atlantis is actually a resort on Paradise Island in the Caribbean, and, much like Plato’s description, it is full of harbors, temples (i.e. hotels) and grandeur galore. Let’s call Atlantis a luxury marine experience, as the amenities are world-class, and the entertainment emphasis is strongly aquatic.

The kids will love Aquaquest, which, although it boasts slides and pools, with more than five million gallons of water, is much more than your average water park. The unique Dolphin Cay is home to 16 special Hurricane Katrina refugees — you guessed it, dolphins. Beyond sea life, the Atlantis Kids Club caters to different age groups with activities, outings and parties to keep everyone happy.

And, while the kids are clubbing, mom and dad can roll the dice in the Atlantis Casino, or shop exclusive boutiques like Cartier and Versace. Mom might need something new to wear to dinner at Nobu or master chef Bobby Flay’s Mesa Grill. Don’t worry: In-room babysitters are standing by.
