Allen Road Park in Coppell

Overall Grade: A (23 points/24 points)

+ Overhang for shade
Rubber fall surfacing
+ Pond with fountain

 Difficult parking
– Only one play structure

Allen Road Park in Coppell sprawls over 5.5 acres and is nestled near a scenic water channel with a fountain and the occasional duck. The park includes a shaded playground, picnic tables and a pavilion with grills. The Allen Road Park playground earned a near perfect score on the Safety Report Card. In addition to a safe structure and clean grounds, this playground is situated on rubber fall surfacing and is covered by an overhang providing protection from the summer sun. Kids can run in the open field, climb and slide on the playground and top off their adventure on the swings before hunting for ducks to feed in the nearby water channel. While the park and playground are sure to please the younger members of the family, parents may find that they are frustrated by the lack of parking. Plan to park on one of the adjacent neighborhood streets and walk to the playground area.

Grade based on the National Program for Playground Safety’s Report Card at playgroundsafety.org.
