With school out for the foreseeable future, we’re sure you want your kiddos to have learning opportunities while at home. So try these online field trips! In just a few seconds, they can tour the Great Wall of China or explore the animal world.
New England Aquarium
Each day, content will be posted on the aquarium’s social media platforms. You’ll be able to watch live videos with educators, see behind-the-scenes animal care and do fun activities. The content is added each day at 11am EST.
Virtual Tour of the Great Wall of China
Considering it’s not a great time to travel, travel virtually! Check out this virtual tour of China’s most famous landmark.
Yellowstone National Park
Explore some of the main attractions around the park by touring online. You’ll see iconic spots, such as the Mammoth Hot Springs and the Mud Volcano.
Georgia Aquarium
Check out the live webcams at the Georgia Aquarium. You can watch beluga whales, a California sea lion, the southern sea otter and more.
Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
Each day at 3pm EDT the zoo will host a Home Safari Facebook Live where they’ll highlight one of the animals living at the zoo. The zoo will also provide an activity the kids can do at home.
National Gallery of Art
This D.C. icon has not one, but two online exhibits via Google.
Musée d’Orsay
Virtually walk through this famous French museum that houses works by Monet, Gauguin and more.
The Smithsonian
Check out various online exhibits at the Smithsonian, such as an exhibit on superheroes, Alexander Hamilton, television and so much more.
Houston Zoo
Each day at 11am CST, Houston Zoo will go live to feature one of the animals living at the zoo on its Facebook page. Watch an elephant take a bath, check out the cheetahs, and see what the western lowland gorillas are up to.
Disney World
While Disney may be closed, that doesn’t mean your kiddos can’t virtually ride some of the favorites at the theme park. Check out Space Mountain, It’s a Small World, Frozen Ever After, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan’s Flight and more.
The National Portrait Gallery
Check out the museum’s video that gives you a glimpse into all the portraits contained in this one spot. There are works that date back to 1901, and some are as recent at 2015.

Dallas Zoo
The Dallas Zoo has started a #BringTheZooToYou campaign on its Facebook page where new content is uploaded each day highlighting some of the animals that live at the zoo. First, the zoo talked about the Grand Cayman rock iguana, then the zookeepers showed off the lovely lionesses—and they’re just getting started. Check it out.
Fort Worth Zoo
The Fort Worth Zoo is also using its Facebook page to highlight and show off its animals. Yesterday, one of the zoo’s interpretive specialists did a livestream with the resident giraffes. Check back to see which animal they’ll show off next!
Dallas Museum of Art
The museum itself may be closed, but it’s digitally open! Soon, the museum will send out e-newsletters each Monday. Some of what the museum will offer includes virtual exhibition experiences, behind-the-scenes stories from around the museum, guides for creatively keeping boredom at bay and art from around the world and from our community. Perot Museum of Nature and Science
Virtually explore fossils in the Origins: Fossils From the Cradle of Humankind exhibit at the Perot. The virtual tour is 360 degrees and includes all 5,000 square feet of the exhibit. While you’re virtually visiting the Perot, be sure to check out the Amaze Your Brain activities.
Dallas Arboretum
Virtually visit the Arboretum while Dallas Blooms is still taking place.
Nasher Sculpture Center

Kimbell Art Museum
Visit the Kimbell online where you can access all of the museum’s resources including coloring pages, virtual tours and more. Keep an eye out as the museum will continue to add more material.
Texas Discovery Gardens
Texas Discovery Gardens debuted a new video series called the Digital Garden. Each week the garden will cover topics including horticulture, entomology and other daily happenings around the grounds. The videos will be posted on all of the social platforms, as well as the garden’s new YouTube channel.
Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth
The Modern now has a few things that have gone digital. Check out Drawing From the Collection for Children and Wonderful Wednesdays.
