7 Great Places for Hot Chocolate in Dallas Fort Worth

a sweet treat to warm you up

It’s that time of year! Right now is one of the best times to cuddle up with your kiddos and significant other along with a good cup of hot chocolate. And sometimes, the stuff in your pantry doesn’t cut it. So bundle up and check out these seven places to get your hot cocoa fix.

La Duni // Dallas
This wonderful Latin café has to take the No. 1 spot because of the rich chocolate in both the French and Latin hot chocolates. Not looking for something hot? Try the Viennese Truffle Iced Chocolate Milk. (Wow.)

Editor’s Pick: Latin Hot Chocolate for the extra foamy-ness or Duni Cappucino (mixed tableside). And grab a pastry while you’re at it.

Halcyon // Dallas
Coming in close at second is Halcyon. And there’s so much more to enjoy than just hot chocolate. Want to hang out with the family while sipping your drinks? There are plenty of games the whole family will love. Love it so much you want to come back sans kiddos? The coffee bar turns into more of a coffee lounge later in the day with killer cocktails and events (hello, trivia nights). But back to the hot chocolate—choose from salted caramel, peppermint, Mayan or peanut butter (yum). Can’t choose? Get the flight of four for only $10.

Editor’s Pick: Flight of four for hot chocolate, Cortado for coffee and any of the seasonal cocktails for the evening.

Ascension Coffee // Multiple locations
This spot is definitely a favorite because 1) how many locations there are and 2) the amazing coffee that’s available if you would prefer a latte while the little sips on hot cocoa.

Editor’s Pick: Lavender Latte or Salted Caramel Mocha Latte

Summer Moon // Fort Worth, Keller & Frisco
Need a large fix of that warm, chocolatey goodness? Summer Moon has a 12-ounce option, a 16-ounce options and a 20-ounce option.

Editor’s Pick: Hot chocolate with whip or the Cinnamoon Latte if you need a coffee fix

Astoria Caffe and Wine Bar // Addison
We just love how quaint and cute this café is. And it’s walking distance to a handful of small Addison parks! So grab your cocoa and (assuming the weather is good) walk over to Addison Park and throw the ole pigskin around.

Editor’s Pick: Hot chocolate with whip or Milky Way Latte

Mudleaf Coffee // Plano
This place keeps it simple, but it sure is tasty. Plus the atmosphere here is just so cool. The kiddos will love the hanging rattan chairs and you might even get a fun design in your latte if you prefer that over the chocolate.

Editor’s Pick: Hot chocolate or Chai Latte

Buon Giorno Coffee // Grapevine & Fort Worth
We love anything with an Italian flair—and that definitely extends to hot chocolate and coffee. Check out this spot’s European Hot Chocolate (a must) or the Frozen Hot Chocolate (available in white or milk chocolate). Want some coffee with your sweet? You won’t be disappointed at the latte options available.

Editor’s Pick: European Hot Chocolate and Tuscany Mocha (think dark chocolate with a hint of orange).
