The Funniest #MomTruths from July

from a fast-food meltdown to a surprise shopping list

“Last year, I took my three boys to a cabin near Rocky Mountain National Park because I want them to love and respect nature. I thought we had really made a breakthrough until halfway up our scenic drive, when my middle child started hysterically crying because he missed Chick-fil-A.” Meghan, Dallas

“Our kids have been asking for a puppybut when our boxer messed up the carpet, I said, ‘We cannot have a puppy.’ Now every time I ‘mess up,’ my 4-year-old says, ‘We cannot have a mommy!’” Alissa, Little Elm

My husband and I were having food delivered after the girls went to bed. I told my 4-year-old that we were going to have a date because we like each other. She responded, ‘I like my sister, but I’m not going to go on a date with her. She’s my sister!’” Meredith, The Colony

On what seemed like day 500 of quarantine, the girls were fighting. One of them came crying that her sister had taken her toy. I yelled, ‘You’re bigger than she is; go take it back!’ Not my best parenting moment.” Sabrina, Lantana

“My son recently discovered how much you can do with the Amazon Echo. I opened my Amazon app one morning to see he added fries and bacon to the shopping list.” Lori, Lucas

“My girlfriend and I thought we would be good moms if we took our kiddos to Zoli’s Pizza. Understandably, their play area was closed off for safety measures, so we now had six children to entertain for a long meal. The kids were nothing but wild the entire hour. Afterward, my girlfriend and I looked at one another and toasted to our ‘brilliant idea.’” Arden, Fort Worth
