Favorite family restaurant We love Original Chopshop—it’s healthy and the kids love it.

Best local park We love the Andy Brown Parks in Coppell.

Favorite family outing We’re excited to check out the new Big Air trampoline and recreation park. The kids also love Play Street Museum. In addition, we are members at Hackberry Creek Country Club and spend a lot of time at the pool during the summer.
For a night out Anywhere in the Toyota Music Factory. We saw Trevor Noah there, which was a perfect night out. And we’re looking forward to checking out Stumpy’s axe throwing!
Self-care spot If I’m feeling like a splurge, I will go to the Four Seasons in Las Colinas for a massage. For a pedicure, I love Chic Nails on Royal Lane. Both my son and daughter love to pick out a color and get their nails painted; it’s a fun family treat for all.

Go-to for getting active I am extremely active and participate in triathlons across the Metroplex. My main form of exercise is through Peloton; I have both the bike and treadmill. My favorite local triathlon of the year is the Monster Triathlon in Keller. I’m also looking forward to checking out Row House in Las Colinas!
For cooling off We love to keep it old school and drive over to the Dairy Queen in Coppell. The drive-thru is open during quarantine, so we’ve made it a special treat for the kids on Sunday evenings.

How she gives back I am a member of the Young Professionals Board of Back on My Feet. Back on My Feet combats homelessness through the power of running, community support and essential employment and housing resources. I volunteer on Saturday mornings at Dallas Life. We run anywhere from 1–5 miles with the group. Members are people living at shelters and need to maintain a 90% attendance rate to be connected with housing and employment resources. It’s a great way to stay active and give back!

How she found her mom squad I am originally from the East Coast and was lucky enough to find a Transplant Parents of New York Facebook group. I have lots of mom friends who’ve also relocated from NYC, so I get to have a piece of home here in Texas. I have other mom friends from work and have met other moms in my neighborhood.
Why Las Colinas is great for families I cannot recommend Las Colinas enough for families. There is so much to do! I love how we have options for both mom–and–pop stores as well as national chains like Target. We also have so much green space; our family loves having the ability to be out in nature. There are also many education options for our kids. I like how there are a lot of schools to choose from for all levels of learning. And there’s so much culture in this little enclave. One of my friends says Las Colinas Elementary reminds her of a little United Nations! And I can’t forget to point out how great it is to be close to the airport (but without noise and pollution). We love traveling as a family, and it’s great to be able to be at the airport in less than 15 minutes!
