What Yasmeen Tadia Loves About East Plano

from cooling off to giving back

East Plano local Yasmeen Tadia is a single mom to son Zain, 10, and the CEO and founder of Make Your Life Sweeter—her gourmet confection brand that features organic cotton candy creations, handcrafted popcorn and more delectable goodies. From relaxing evenings in to exploring her community, Tadia finds life in Plano a real treat.

Favorite family restaurant Hands down, Noodle Wave! My son and I love it so much, because after traveling all over the world, we have realized that there is no Thai food that compares to the creative and innovative ideas of their founder and executive chef, Rosie Keopaseut.

Best green space Oak Point Nature Preserve is our favorite park! We love the open space and the ability to experience the true Texas landscape and nature.

Favorite family outing With our intense life of events and travel, we love being home in Plano! We have friends over for a chill evening of games and a home-cooked meal. For a night out, we go to Legacy West or Cinemark theater

For a night out The Blue Fish sushi is my go-to night out with the girls. Their sushi is beyond exceptional, but casual enough to have an enjoyable evening sitting out on their Allen location’s patio while listening to live music.

Self-care spot I love Sweet Home Bath & Body in East Plano! They offer a variety of crafting classes that definitely help me wind down. The Four Seasons Resort and Club is my favorite location for a relaxing spa retreat. It’s nestled in Irving and truly feels like a vacation outside of Dallas.

Go-to for getting active I actually love the Peloton app, which offers live and on-demand workouts depending on your level. You don’t even need their bike or a treadmill. My favorites—the interactive outdoor runs and the indoor yoga sessions—require no equipment at all.

For cooling off We love going to the Jack Carter Pool! It has a tube slide, lazy river, deep water pool, surf simulator, kids’ area and much more. Overall, Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark is probably our favorite place to cool down. It really is enjoyable for the entire family.

How they give back Zain and I are giving back through Make Your Life Sweeter’s hero program, where we honor heroes keeping our country afloat during the pandemic. Anyone can nominate a hero, and we will send them a sweet treat! Or you can sponsor a hero, and we will split the cost with you. We are also launching a Black Lives Matter collection, with all the proceeds donated to Black-led and Black-founded nonprofits.

How she found her mom squad I have met so many friends at the newly renovated Tower Club in Dallas. In addition to spending an afternoon working out of their main lobby area, I have enjoyed their numerous networking and professional development events that allow for an easy way to meet new friends! Additionally, the membership to Tower Club allows for you to access ClubCorp clubs all over the world.

Why East Plano is great for families I’ve lived in East Plano since 2006, and we moved to Timberbrook Estates, our neighborhood, because of its secluded nature alongside Oak Point Nature Preserve. We are steps away from countless hiking trails, and I love my neighbors. Plus, after a busy day of entertaining clients at events and attending important meetings, everything I need is minutes away.
