To those of you that think because you became an “adult” or a parent it means you can’t have the same kind of child-like fun anymore, hear this: Remove that thought out of your mind! Fun isn’t just for your kids! That being said, Dallas-Fort Worth has so much to offer when it comes to letting out your inner child. Here are some of our favorites.
Contemporary Ballet Dallas
This dance studio just east of SMU offers a full range of dance classes for everyone from beginners to professionals. Always wanted to learn tap dance? There’s a class for you. Took ballet when you were younger and want to pick it up again? There’s a class for you too. Check the website for the full adult schedule.
This place literally has it all: bowling, laser tag, bumper cars, an elevated ropes course, arcade games (should we keep going?). On top of that, the food is way above par compared to the usual bowling alley. Rooms are available for rent too.
Painting With a Twist
Get your paint and wine on with your best friends or significant other at any of the 22 Painting With A Twist locations around DFW. We guarantee you’ll be pleasantly surprised at your masterpiece at the end of the event. Who knows? Maybe you’re the next Picasso!
Blue Sky Sports Center
Did you play soccer as a kid? Want to get out there and score some goals again? Blue Sky has leagues for kids and adults alike. It offers options for different ages, men’s teams, women’s teams and co-ed teams. Offers vary by location, so make sure you check the website first.
If you love to sing, but maybe prefer not to do it in a room full of strangers, this is the spot for you. The space offers various private rooms for rent that fit anywhere from 5–25 people. Get out there and belt it!
Do you feel the need? … the need for speed? (Cue “Highway to the Danger Zone.”) Strap in the driver’s seat of one of SpeedZone’s dragsters that go from 0 to 70mph in under four seconds or check out the high-powered go-carts over on the Turbo Track. You’ll be up to Maverick or Ricky Bobby’s level in no time.
