Location: 3380 Sherwood Dr., Plano. The park is just east of a large neighborhood with two free parking lots for visitors. Use the lot on the north side if you plan on taking the trail down to the main park area. The other lot, which can be accessed from East Parker, is much closer to the main area but has fewer spots.
Best for: Kids who love sports. In addition to a playground (best for ages 2–12), there is a sand volleyball court; multi-use court; a hike and bike trail that goes around a small lake; open fields for disc golf, soccer, football or other games; and a pier on the lake where you can fish.
For your convenience: There are benches near the playground so you can sit and watch your little ones, and a pavilion close to the playground and multi-use court can be reserved for events. If you do have an event at the pavilion, there are grills available for a cookout. The restrooms are almost right in between the multi-use court and pavilion.
Safety: This park is quite large, and since it’s near a small lake, make sure to keep a close eye on your kiddos (especially if they plan to use the fishing pier). The playground does not have much shade, so when the temperature starts to rise, be mindful of how much sun the kids will get while playing.
