If you have a commute in the morning, there’s a strong chance you’ve heard Kellie Rasberry’s (now Kellie Rasberry Evans) voice come through your radio. A longtime member of the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show on KISS FM, she has entertained many with her Showbiz Top 5, Love Letters to Kellie and her witty comebacks. Recently, the radio personality veered off the radio track and into retail by launching a new online retail store named after her daughter: Emma Kelly & Me.
“I bought the domain EmmaKellyAndMe.com when Emma Kelly was a baby, not really knowing what I would do with it,” Rasberry Evans says. “For the longest time, it was just the two of us against the world. And as a single mom, my goal was to raise a daughter filled with a spirit of independence, generosity, compassion, and confidence.”
With this goal in mind, she decided to look for a new venture that could include her daughter, and fashion is where she landed. “I’m looking forward to adding Emma Kelly’s vision and voice to the site in the future, so it is truly a project we can grow together,” Rasberry Evans says.
So far, she has collaborated with Dallas designer Parker & Hyde on three new handbags and has chosen “elevated basics”—quality made clothing and accessories—for the site, all under $100. In other words, the store will have items that stick to a price point, but are high quality and won’t fall apart after a couple of wears.
“Emma Kelly & Me is a clothing and accessories brand with a goal of dressing women (and women-in-training) in apparel that gives them confidence,” Rasberry Evans says. “I believe clothing does more than just cover the body. Clothing is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves.” She also adds that if Emma Kelly & Me can help a woman feel confident, then they’re doing wonderful things. “#ConfidenceIsBeautiful!” she says.
