From sweaty summers to the chilly winter temps this month, the predictably unpredictable Texas weather means that there can never be too many indoor play areas in Dallas-Fort Worth. (Can we get an amen?) Take air-conditioned paradise and throw in a beloved cartoon character, and your kiddos may never want to leave.
That’s right—Peppa Pig, star of the eponymous British animated TV series, is making her way to Texas. It was announced today that Peppa Pig World of Play, an interactive indoor play center, will open at Grapevine Mills Shopping Center in February—the first of its kind in the U.S.
The 14,000-square-foot attraction will feature 14 colorful play areas inspired by the TV show that will allow little ones to explore and experience life as Peppa herself. “A meticulous level of detail has gone into creating each of the play areas, and we’re also using the latest in visual and sensory effects technology to guarantee a truly memorable day out for families,” said Paul Moreton, group creative director of Merlin Entertainment (the global attraction company operating World of Play), in a press release.
In addition to over a dozen immersive learning-based play zones, the attraction will also be home to a cinema, gift shop, themed party rooms and space for families to relax and unwind. We hear that kids may even be able to take part in Peppa’s trademark pastime—jumping in mud puddles.
World of Play joins other family-friendly interactive attractions at Grapevine Mills, like the LEGOLAND Discovery Center and the SEA LIFE Aquarium.
Your family can join Peppa’s world when her first-ever U.S. home opens sometime next month––we’ll update you on the official opening date in February. In the meantime, check out all of Peppa Pig’s latest adventures with your kids on her YouTube channel, website or on your local Nickelodeon Jr. channel.
