Treat yourself in 2019 with these self-care picks that feel indulgent—but won’t break the bank.
New way to love your face
Who’s got time for a painstaking beauty regimen? That’s why we’re obsessed with sheet masks, a South Korean import that’s less involved than your typical facial. The face-shaped sheets have all the hydrating ingredients built in; you just have to let the mask sit for 20 minutes while you pop in another load of laundry. Plus, they’re individually packaged, meaning no pricey commitment until you’ve found a brand you love. Two of our favorites: Whamisa’s hydrogel masks, made from organic ingredients that moisturize skin and reduce wrinkles; and KoCostar’s slice masks that look—and smell!—like cucumber, watermelon and other fruits and come “sliced” for more targeted treatment.

New way to liven up your commute
Behind every president has been a first lady with her own goals and passions. In Ladies, First, a podcast produced by the George W. Bush Institute, host Natalie Gonnella-Platts chats with historians and other guests about the history of first ladies from Barbara Bush to Clementine Churchill (even if her husband was prime minister, not president). And at 10–15 minutes an episode, the podcast packs the perfect amount of inspiration for the commute—that’s why it’s a favorite of our Mom Next Door, Laura Collins. Listen online or download from iTunes; free.
