Phase one of the My Possibilities Campus for Higher Learning opens late April, allowing the Plano organization to serve hundreds more a week. Launched in 2006, My Possibilities provides adults with cognitive disabilities—aka HIPsters (Hugely Important People)—socialization opportunities, vocational training and independent living skills. Modeled after a college campus, the new facility is the first of its kind, designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The three-year, $25 million project was made possible by the generosity of local business and community members—and it’s just the beginning. The organization plans to break ground on Building 2 later this year. To learn more and pledge your support, visit mypossibilities.org/campaign.
