What to Know About the New Goop Pop-Up in Dallas

6 reasons to visit Gwyneth Paltrow’s store in Highland Park Village

Goop is back in the heart of Texas, y’all. After a successful run in 2014, Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle blog-turned-brand has returned to Dallas for another limited-edition brick-and-mortar experience.

Now through June 3, you can stop by Highland Park Village to experience the goopiness for yourself. We got a look at the pop-up boutique on opening day—read on for our reasons why you can’t miss Goop Dallas.

Kid-Friendly Couture
Though Goop really caters to Mom’s favorites (we’ll get to the designer handbags in a moment), your little ones will love all the real estate dedicated to goodies just for them. Clothes from Janie and Jack hang on racks below shelves stocked with Papoose felt toys, pastel-colored Fujifilm cameras and wooden toys by French label Vilac. There are even chairs and a toddler-friendly table where your babes can keep themselves entertained while you debate purchasing that Prada purse.

The shop also has plans to host kid-friendly events in-store during its limited run. Be sure to keep up to date on #goopDALLAS social media for the as-yet-unannounced happenings, especially around Mother’s Day. After Goop-ing, you can extend the Mommy & Me time and pop across the parking lot into The Tot, owned by our former Mom Next Door Nasiba Adilova.

Look Good & Feel Good
Much ado has been made over the years about Goop’s penchant for highlighting more esoteric wellness practices. The oft-discussed stone yoni eggs and adaptogenic dusts are on display, alongside more pedestrian wellness offerings like vitamins, coconut-flavored floss and aromatherapy oils.

The lifestyle company was one of the earliest champions of the clean beauty movement, so Goop is stocked exclusively with sustainable, environmentally-conscious skincare & cosmetics brands featuring nontoxic, ethically-sourced ingredients. Luxury labels like Tata Harper, Rodin and May Lindstrom are lined on the shelves next to products with prettier price points, like Herbivore Botanicals, Olio e Osso and French Girl.

Offerings also include Goop’s in-house collection of fragrances, candles and skincare, plus cult products like Taylor Tomasi-Hill’s faves, Vintner’s Daughter Serum and Dr. Barbara Sturm Sun Drops.

Raid Gwyneth’s Closet
You might not be able to walk a mile in Gwyneth Paltrow’s shoes, but at least you can walk around in a pair of GP-approved kicks. The boutique is stocked with clothing and accessories curated by Gwyneth herself, with Dallas weather and lifestyle in mind (think soft greys, light pinks, bright blues and plenty of stripes). Peruse items from Goop’s own line G.Label, try on shoes and handbags from Prada, or take in the vintage pieces sourced from the New York-based luxury vintage company, What Goes Around Comes Around.

It’s a One-Stop Shop
The Goop team packs a whole lot in just 1,200 square feet. In need of some inspiration for tonight’s dinner? Flip through one of the many cookbooks for sale—from Gwyneth’s offerings like It’s All Good and It’s All Easy to collections by wellness brand Moon Juice and meal kit service Blue Apron.

You can even stock up on kitchen essentials, like Rao’s Homemade tomato sauce, Semolina Artisanal Pasta, Mountain Spring Water, and organic spreads and spice blends by Countertop Foods. Give your Lipton a rest and try Chalait matcha or tea blends from the Danish-born Cocoon Tea Artisans.

Other standouts include ceramics and glassware by Il Buco Vita, MUR Lifestyle gold measuring spoons and an exclusive line of goop x Staub cookware.

Margarita Mondays
Yep, you read that right. Every week, Goop will be stirring up margaritas at an in-house Cointreau-sponsored bar to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the beloved cocktail, which was invented by Dallas socialite Margarita Sames in 1948.

On Mondays from 4-6PM, guests can choose from three variations: the Original Margarita (Cointreau, blanco tequila, fresh lime juice with a salt rim); the Spicy Margarita (Cointreau, blanco tequila, fresh lime juice and jalapeno); and the goop-iest of them all, the Farmers’ Market Margarita (Cointreau, blanco tequila, fresh lime juice, carrot juice, orange juice with a salt rim).

Blue Apron will be on hand select nights to serve mini tacos and other hors d’oeuvres to accompany your margarita.

Lone Star Love
After all, GP is Country Strong, so it’s no surprise that Texas-exclusive perks abound at the Highland Park Village outpost. If you hurry, you can get your hands on a limited edition Summerill & Bishop x Goop tablecloth with “TEXAS” printed across it—designed by Gwyneth herself. For added fun, Cadillac will be on hand select days throughout the shop’s run to offer test drives in the 2018 XT5 Crossover and the hands-free-operating 2018 CT6 Sedan.

In addition to Margarita Mondays, the Goop will host regular special events throughout its limited run. Keep tabs on the shop’s events site for the Goop scoop on everything from local designer trunk shows to family-friendly activities and workshops made for a girls’ night out.
