Architect and designer Lacy Barnett-Cagle’s mother-in-law and friends were over the moon to throw her an adventure-themed baby shower. With inspiration from Barnett-Cagle’s love for geometric shapes, party hosts put an eclectic spin on the shower’s decorations which doubled as nursery furnishings for her newly renovated home.
Keeping with the globe-trotting theme, hosts decorated the yogurt bar and tabletop with golden safari animal figurines and mint-colored paper lanterns fashioned to look like hot air balloons. They also created a game, writing the word “baby” in several languages on sheets of paper. Thirteen guests had to match the language to the word.
Guests came dressed to complement the decor, donning navy, shades of blue, yellow and gray. Barnett-Cagle wore her favorite mint green.
Instead of cake, guests indulged on Joy Macarons, Barnett-Cagle’s favorite guilty pleasure. Attendees sipped virgin Moscow mules while snacking on healthy bites like Caprese salad skewers and homemade ham-and-cheese sandwiches all served on Barnett-Cagle’s mint-and-navy dinnerware.
