Dallas mom Marisa Howard, a lifestyle blogger at marhow.net, celebrated the arrival of her daughter London with a butterfly-themed baby shower. When guests arrived at the home of her friend Nasiba Adilova in University Park, they were greeted by a bottle of Dom Pérignon Rosé and asked to leave a note for little London in Dr. Seuss’ Oh, The Places You’ll Go!
A three-course Italian lunch, catered by Nonna in Dallas, was served in a separate room for all 20 guests. Butterfly linen napkins and China from Madison in Highland Park Village brought together the bright, outdoorsy theme.
Attendees were offered hors d’oeuvres while they joined an onesie-decorating contest. They also took turns guessing how much Marisa’s baby bump had grown and then measured with a ribbon.
For dessert, a baby bottle-shaped cake from Frosted Art Bakery in Dallas was served with tea while Marisa opened gifts. Guests filled colorful take-away bags with themed sugar cookies, cupcakes and cake balls before they departed.
