Confession: We’ve been logging an awful lot of time on the expertly curated online shop, Pretty Mommy, ogling and (much to our hubby’s chagrin) snapping up super-soft dresses and tunics from Ace & Jig, jewelry from Laura Lombardi, John Robshaw’s boho chic textiles and cult-handbag designer Clare Vivier’s buttery leather clutches (in outfit-transforming hues like grass green and cobalt blue). The site is helmed by former North Texan, Michelle LeBlanc, who, after a stint during college at Austin’s sartorial Mecca, By George, moved to Minneapolis with her music-critic husband. There she launched her online storefront on the premise that middle-America was just as deserving of all the “cool-girl” lines so easily accessed on the coasts. And for that we thank her, as most of the goodies stocked on Pretty Mommy somehow never show up in Dallas’ otherwise stellar shopping landscape. See Michelle in the flesh, and her goods in person at Pretty Mommy’s Pop-up shop at Little Bean on Sep 9.
