Summer "training" is in full swing at the Museum of the American Railroad. Walking tours of the museum's rolling stock site will be available:

-11am each Wed from Jul 5–Aug 23

-11am each Thu and Fri; 10 and 11am each Sat from Jun 1–Sep 30

Call ahead 214/428-0101 to check the status of the tour schedule in the event of inclement weather.  Tours will last approximately 45 minutes and originate at the Frisco Heritage Museum (6455 Page Street) a few blocks north of the Railroad Museum. After paying admission at the Heritage Museum, you will proceed to the Railroad Museum site. Parking is available at the Frisco Discovery Center (8004 Dallas Parkway).

Site tours are entirely outdoors and involve walking and some climbing.  The museum site is still under construction and accessibility is limited. Dress comfortably for outdoor activity, including closed toe shoes, hats and sunscreen, and bring bottled water.

Admission includes the Railroad Museum's second floor exhibits at the Frisco Heritage Museum. Pay admission at the Frisco Heritage Museum approximately 15 minutes prior to your tour. Visitors can browse the museum store, which features railroad themed gifts, collectibles, books, and electric train sets for all ages.
