Arts & Crafts: Late Night at the DMA

On the third Friday of each month, the museum is open until midnight. Each Late Night offers hundreds of experiences for visitors of all ages with performances, concerts, readings, film screenings, tours and family programs. See website for monthly themes as activities are updated.

In celebration of the DMA's exhibit México 1900–1950, Late Night activities and entertainment on May 19 include a film and author talk:

Late Night Film: 1944 María Candelaria at 10:15pm. One of the most beloved and acclaimed films of the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema, María Candelaria tells the story of an ill-fated love affair between two young indigenous people, María and Lorenzo.

Late Night Talk: Frida Kahlo: Fashion as the Art of Being. 7pm in Horchow Auditorium; repeated in Spanish at 9pm. Journalist and author Susana Martínez Vidal examines Kahlo’s captivating aesthetic and her influence on art and fashion. A booksigning will follow the talk. $15 public; $10 students (with valid ID); free for DMA Members and children 11 and younger.
