Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP is proud to continue its tradition of extolling the work and teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with the Annual MLK Jr. Oratory Competitions.

This year's finals competitions will be held on Friday, Jan 13 and will mark the 25th anniversary in Dallas and 21st in Houston. This year, fourth and fifth grade students will deliver original three-to-five minute speeches answering the question, "If Dr. King were alive today, what would he say about Muhammad Ali’s contribution to society?"

Established in 1993 in Dallas and expanded four years later to Houston, this unique event encourages the development of research, writing and oratory skills of hundreds of Dallas and Houston elementary school children.

The students' speeches not only address how Dr. King impacts today's world but also illustrate how his words continue to affect their lives and inspire their perspectives.

There will be eight speeches lasting a total of 1–1.5 hours. Children of all ages are welcome. It’s a great learning experience for the kids to hear more about MLK and, in this year's case, Muhammad Ali.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.

This event or venue can accommodate children with special needs.
