Built in 1990, the Irving Arts Center is the area’s hub for theater performances and fine art exhibitions. Guests young and old can stroll the property (taking a break to view the beautiful sculpture garden) or head indoors to peek at one of the four galleries, two performing arts stages and more.

Additionally, kids may attend weekly art classes including hands-on crafting, story times and other programming (like Saturday School, Family Funday, JumpstART and more).




This venue can accommodate children with special needs.

Wheelchair accessible. Audio devices available for performances.

Experience a bazaar in the lobby and then explore the facets of India through a Broadway-style production with classical music and Bollywood dancing, co-produced by MainStage and ThinkIndia Foundation.

9/10/2017: Second Sunday Funday
Tell a story by drawing a comic strip during this program for kids and their parents. Gallery inspiration: BAM! It’s a Picture Book – The Art Behind Graphic Novels.

9/15/2017 - 9/17/2017: Rang De! Color Me India!
Experience a bazaar in the lobby and then explore the facets of India through a Broadway-style production with classical music and Bollywood dancing, co-produced by MainStage and ThinkIndia Foundation.

9/18/2017: Bolero Texas
Join this community dance workshop under the artistic direction of Larry Keigwin of Keigwin + Company to participate in a large-scale, evening-length program. Open to a cast of 50 people in all age groups. No prior dance training required.

9/20/2017: Home-School Connection
At this new quarterly program for area homeschoolers, join a tour of the current exhibitions followed by a related art activity that relates to one of the exhibits. Space is limited.
