Activities: Get unplugged at the Heritage Farmstead Museum with four hours of good old fashioned fun. Choose from two different camps that feature activities such as taking care of farm animals, taking a walk down Pitman Creek, hands on historical demonstrations, games from the past, and so much more!

MISSION

The Heritage Farmstead Museum (HFM) is the premiere living history site interpreting the Texas black-land prairie region in north-Texas. An American Association of Museums accredited institution, the HFM strives to offer unique encounters with objects and ideas for people of many ages, interests and backgrounds. Come tour this living, 4.5 acre piece of history and see what life was like on the Blackland Prairie.

Choose from two unique camps: Pioneer Camp: Help take care of live-stock, experience historical games such as croquet, sack races, and participate in hands on demonstrations like weaving and blacksmithing. Ages 6-12. Creek Camp: Have fun with science while keeping cool. Take a daily trip down Pitman Creek to explore plant and animal life and learn about the eco-system. Campers will conduct experiments, participate in water games, and learn what life was like 100 years ago. Ages 6-12 Junior Historian Camp: Discover early North Texas through creative fun ways like art, archaeology, hands on demonstrations, maps, music, museum visits, artifacts, and more! Open to all Middle School and High School students. Junior Historian Camp will take place during Pioneer Camp session I.
