Activities: From innovative “maker” camps to intensive skill-building arts camps, we’re sure you’ll find the perfect creative outlet your student needs this summer. With a strong emphasis on creative problem-solving and artistic skill development, our interactive camps will engage and inspire creative campers no matter their artistic ability. Add to this a staff of highly–skilled summer camp instructors and certified educators from a variety of creative industries and you’re looking at the most inspirational summer camp options in our region!

CREATIVE TIME-TRAVELERS CAMP
Ages 5 - 9 ​
Campers will build strong creative skills through music, art, dance, and theater as they journey through time in any or all of four themed weeks. From skill-building projects to fun group activities, there’s something for every “creative” – including an all-inclusive arts showcase for family and friends at the end of each themed week!

WEEK 1 June 4 - 8: Greek Times
WEEK 2 June 11 - 15: Roman Times
WEEK 3 June 18 - 22: Medieval Times
WEEK 4 June 25 - 29: Shakespearean

DESERTED ISLAND CAMP
Ages 10 - 13
You’re stranded on a tropical deserted island with a bunch of friends and a limited amount of survival supplies but LOADS of creativity! Using skills like creative writing, science, math, theater, recycled materials, and sound and video production, you will write, direct, and perform scenarios that will feature the necessary survival items crafted from found and repurposed items to create a Deserted Island survival plan. Do you have the creativity and “maker” skills to help our group survive and thrive in our Desert Island Camp!?​

ZOMBIE SURVIVAL CAMP
Ages 14 - 18
​Well it’s happened - we’re up to our eyeballs in Zombies... With your family and friends secure, you turn your attention to the most important task at hand – creating a defensive plan to not only survive, but also protect humankind from the stumbling hordes of Zombies. Using skills like creative writing, science, math, theater, recycled materials, and sound and video production, campers will write, direct, and perform scenarios that will feature the necessary survival items crafted from found and repurposed items to create a steadfast defensive/survival plan. Do you have the creativity and “maker” skills to help our society survive this pesky zombie infestation!?​

Level up your visual arts skills this summer with this intensive arts camp. Utilizing a variety of visual arts mediums, campers will explore technique, theory, and art history under our skilled instructors.

SENIOR VISUAL ARTS CAMP

OPERA FUNatics CAMPS
Hosted by Texas Center for Arts + Academics, Fort Worth Opera is providing a highly interactive summer intensive which will result in students having a greater knowledge of opera on stage and behind the curtain. During this program, each student will receive coaching sessions from FWO Principal Pianist Stephen Carey, costume and set design activities from FWO Coordinator of Education Sheran Goodspeed Keyton, as well as special guest appearances by FWO production and creative staff which will benefit them during their professional careers. The lessons learned will transcend opera performances, and be applicable in any career they choose. PLEASE NOTE: Admission to the Opera FUNatics Camps is by application only.​

OPERA FUNatics: The H&G Project
Grades 3 - 6
Learn the chorus from the FWO Children’s Opera Hansel and Gretel Learn age-appropriate opera terminology Create visual art pieces to accommodate the Hansel and Gretel story An opportunity to audition for FWO’s professional performance of Hansel and Gretel Perform a public presentation of the music for family and friends

OPERA FUNatics: The Opera Games 2.0
Grades 7 - 12
Create or locate an opera piece suitable to their individual voice Receive one-on-one coaching on the chosen piece from FWO Principal Pianist Stephen Carey Learn age-appropriate opera terminology, including technological terminology Create visual art pieces which represent the appropriate costume and set to accommodate the chosen piece V.I.P. Access – An opportunity to attend one of FWO’s staging rehearsals, chorus rehearsals, or set load ins. (Which are otherwise closed to the public) Perform a public presentation of the music with full costume, and lighting which the student will create.

TEXAS DANCE CONSERVATORY SUMMER SESSIONS
